IVPOCUS 2017 attracted 100 veterinarians from North America, South America, Europe and Australia. The 2 ½ day event featured world-renowned speakers representing thought leadership in veterinary point-of-care ultrasound (VPOCUS) and FAST ultrasound examinations.
Attendees earned 19-hours of RACE-approved continuing education and over 90% rated the program Excellent to Very Good.

Our 2017 Renowned Speakers
Our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Nilam Soni, MD and author of award-winning Point-of-Care Ultrasound, Elsevier, 2015, spoke about the evolution of the ultrasound probe as part of the physical exam, the current ongoing training for medical students and doctors, and the challenges for adopting POCUS as a core skill for physicians.
Dr. Greg Lisciandro, President IVPOCUS spoke on AFAST and its fluids scoring system (abdomen), TFAST (thorax), Vet BLUE (lung) and on Global FAST for patient monitoring & the cardiac patient, Global FAST for traditional difficult conditions.
Dr. Terri DeFrancesco, DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology), DACVECC spoke about imaging the heart, importance of individual echo views, and tag-teamed with Dr. Greg Lisciandro on traditionally difficult conditions now detected using Global FAST and Global FAST for monitoring the cardiac patient.
Drs Christian Guachamin, MV, Chris Johnson, DVM, and Kara LaRue, DVM spoke about their experiences using Global FAST for detecting conditions traditionally missed and how Global FAST led to successful patient care, and the importance of the Global FAST Approach.
Dr. Deb Canapp, DVM, DACVSMR, CCRT, CVA spoke on VPOCUS MSK for detecting soft tissue injuries and US-guided MSK procedures.
Dr. Soren Boysen, DVM, DACVECC spoke along with Dr. Greg Lisciandro on AFAST and TFAST Case Presentations, and on US-guided Procedures.
