Dr. Soren Boysen

Dr. Boysen obtained his veterinary degree from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, completed a small animal internship at the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada, and a residency in emergency and critical care at Tufts University.   He has taught at several Canadian Veterinary Colleges and is currently professor of Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Calgary. He has received several teaching awards and published over 70 peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters on emergency and critical care topics, and is an internationally recognized speaker. He has a particular passion for critical care sonography having published the first translational study on Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma in small animals. He has delivered talks and labs on ER ultrasound at CanWest, VetsNow, EVECCS, IVECCS and various other conferences and continues to work on improving hands-on training workshops for emergency ultrasound for non-specialist practitioners.
