Dr. Chris Johnson, IVPOCUS Board Member and ER veterinarian at Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists, shows us a dog with dilated cardiomyopathy in which he applies the TFAST-Vet BLUE Approach during patient rounds post stabilization. Note it only takes him ~2-minutes, low impact with no shaving and the patient standing, with beautiful images, while gaining important clinical information for patient management. By knowing there is no left-sided congestive heart failure (essentially Dry Lung on Vet BLUE using B-line scoring), he can make the therapeutic decision to start Beta Blockers, and decide on loop diuretic management as well.
